Wheat - week 2

Things all went according to schedule - you know, except the weather. We hoped to plant and have a great rain storm to water our little seeds. However, her hit a dry spell (a HOT dry spell) that lasted the whole week. Sigh.
That meant I had to water the wheat. Not such a big deal to hook up a sprinkler and turn on the hose. But still, not the easy peasy task of watching rain fall.
Sigh.
The good news is - we have sprouts. Few and far between, but they are there. Poking their spiky greenness through the grey dirt looking for sun. So far we are doing well. Let's hope it continues.

As a side note. It takes wheat 2-3 days to germinate, or bust open. Then it can take anywhere from 7-10 days to sprout. If you don't see anything after 15 days - reseed!
