Peace Be Still Blog Tour

“No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean and earth and skies.
They all shall sweetly obey thy will:
Peace, be still; peace, be still.”
(Hymns, “Master, the Tempest is Raging,” no. 105.)

Our modern world is full of fast-paced stress and jam-packed schedules. Both trials and blessings happen to us so quickly that there is rarely a moment of peace. It is easy to be overwhelmed and lost.

In Peace, Be Still, Elder David S. Baxter of the Seventy describes ways for us to find peace in our crazy world by turning to our Lord, Jesus Christ. He speaks of principles to learn, habits to gain, and places to go to find peace in our daily lives and at home. This inspiring book will help us through the tempests in our lives and lead us to a greater sense of personal peace by encouraging and instructing us to follow Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

When I read the back of this book I thought, "This book was written for me." Life does get crazy around here. Each day is full of wonderful moments, and some not so great ones too, that rumble together to make life feel as rushed as a Saturday, late-night trip to the supermarket for milk. I spend so much time trying to get in and out of places that I have to remind myself to enjoy the moment while I'm in it because in a blink it will be gone.

The section of the book that I liked the best were the chapters discussing the Holy Ghost and his purpose in our lives. Here are a couple of the quotes the author shares:

In speaking of the Lord’s promise of peace, President Marion G.
Romney said, “There is no way to discourage or defeat a people or one person who follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”

And

President Marion G. Romney taught, “Now, I tell you that you can make every decision in your life correctly if you can learn to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This you can do if you will discipline yourself to yield your own feelings to the promptings of the Spirit.”

What awesome promises and blessings that come from following the promptings of the Holy Ghost and learning to listen and yield to the Spirit. It is a wonderful book that truly and honestly shares the author's testimony and brings peace to the reader.

Blog This Blog Tour

I read a lot of e-books; however, I've only recently come upon Cami Checketts who writes clean romantic thrillers. I was participating in a group book signing at The Book Store in Logan, Utah, and was assigned a spot kiddie-corner from Cami. We started talking in between signings and I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of her books. Blog This is her newest release.

Back Cover:

Will protecting children throughout the world cost Natasha her own family?
Devastated by the loss of her brother, Natasha Senecot works to expose the dangers of Matthew Chrysler’s violent video games, succeeding in bankrupting and humiliating him.
Chrysler retaliates and sends a hit man after her. Natasha is forced to fake her own death to protect her children, but after witnessing another tragedy, Natasha won’t hide any longer.
In a race against time, can Natasha expose Matthew Chrysler before his assassin murders her family and shatters her world?

Blog This Reviews:

-- From the very first chapter, Blog This grabs your gut and your heart with surprising action and touching moments.  Cami Checketts blends suspense, humor, and good clean romance into a story that will stick with you.
Daniel Coleman, Author of Gifts and Consequences
-- Loved it.  Loved it.  Loved it.  Have read all of Cami’s books but Blog This is on the top of my list.  Read it twice and enjoyed it just as much the second time.  Just when you think you know what is going to happen you’re led into a different direction. Had a hard time putting the book down and was anxious to see how it was going to end.
